What do I need to do before taking an US Visa appointment ?
Prior to confirming a visa interview appointment online, you need to pay the US Visa Fee and obtain a Visa Fee Receipt from HDFC Bank.
How much US Visa Fee I need to pay for taking visa appointment ?
The fees payable at HDFC Bank per passport are: -
Non-refundable Visa Application Fee (MRV Fee): US $131 payable in INR equivalent
at consular exchange rate. Visa Application Fee at current exchange rate (Rs. 50/-) is Rs. 6,550/-.
This fee is payable in cash or by DD/HDFC Bank cheque favouring US Embassy - Visa Fees'.
DDs issued by cooperative banks are not accepted.
Non-refundable Service Charge : Rs.374/- which includes VFS service charge
Rs359/- & Bank service charge Rs15/- (inclusive of Service Tax @ 12% and Education Cess Tax @0.36%)
This fee is payable in cash or by DD/HDFC Bank cheque favouring 'HDFC Bank a/c VFS'.
DDs issued by cooperative banks are not accepted.
Can I deposit my US Visa Fee to any HDFC bank ?
No, Visa appointment fee can only be deposited at designated HDFC branches only.

Can someone else deposit my US Visa Feefor US Visa appointment on my behalf at HDFC bank ?
Yes, Visa-fee has dedicated team of professionals who can deposit your US visa appointment fee
at HDFC Bank on your behalf. To avail this facility you just have to raise a request by signing
on visa-fee.com and we will deposit the fees for you. Once the fees is deposited we update the
status of your request with bar code information that will be required for taking the visa
appointment. Based on your request we can either courier HDFC receipt in India or it can be

Can I get refund back for my HDFC visa fee receipt ?
The HDFC visa fees are not refundable. You must appear for an Interview within
1 year (365 days) from the date you purchased your fee receipt from HDFC Bank.
If you do not appear for an Interview within one year after the purchase of your fee receipt,
it will no longer be valid. The receipt is deemed as utilized once the interview has taken place,
and cannot be used to make a subsequent appointment.
I am in U.S. can I deposit US Visa appointment fees in U.S. ?
No, Unfortunately the visa appointment fees can only be deposited at designated branches of HDFC in India only Or can request visa-fee.com to get the US Visa receipt for you.
Can the receipts be mailed to outside India locations?
Yes, the receipts can be mailed outside India. We have been mailing receipts to US at an additional cost.
It takes 3-5 business days to get the receipts. We opt for most reliable courier companies like DHL / FEDEX while mailing
the receipts as we understand how important they are for you.
Once we get your HDFC receipt from HDFC designated branches we
get them scanned and email the scanned copy to you so that you can start taking the appointments.
Also we provide the courier tracking number so that you have the exact status of the receipts.
However we don't take any responsibilities if your receipt is lost due to
courier companies negligence.
How many days do we take to get the US visa Fee appointment receipt from HDFC Bank ?
We take 1-3 business days to get the US visa appointment receipt after getting all the documents from you.
The day when we get the documents is counted as zero day. Days for which HDFC bank is having Holidays is not
counted as a business day.
Is there a way to get the HDFC visa receipt soon as I can't wait for five Business days ?
